Naming the North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor Road
Overview
Have your say on the name for the new North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor Road (NEMMDR).
The new North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor Road (NEMMDR) is a 4.5-mile-long route designed to divert traffic away from Melton’s busy town centre. Over 10 years in the making, it’s the council’s biggest ever road project to date.
Soon to open to the public (in May 2026), Leicetsershire County Council are asking for your help to choose the road’s name. Selected names were shortlisted by a local board and reflect Melton Mowbray’s geography, history, and rich heritage.
The shortlisted names are:
- Pork Pie Way
- River Eye Road
- Wreake Road
- Lazars Way
- Wolds Way
- Farrier Way
- Victory Road
- Military Way
- Veteran Road
