Overview

We are seeking views on the proposed update to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. The new policy sets out the principles and conditions that will be applied when licensing hackney carriages, private hire vehicles, drivers and operators.  

We want to hear your views on the update as they will feed into our decision to either accept the policy as proposed or make changes based on the comments received.

If you have any comments on the proposed new Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, you should email these to licensing@melton.gov.uk, before 2 November 2025.

Why your views matter

Any comments received will be reviewed by the Director for Growth and Prosperity, who will decide if the policy is accepted as proposed or if changes need to be made based on the comments received.
