Taxi fare tariff increase proposal
Overview
There is a proposal for the increase of the Hackney Carriage fare tariff for fares within the borough of Melton.
A Hackney Carriage, also known as a taxi, is a vehicle that is licensed to carry passengers for hire and reward. The fares have not been updated since August 2021.
We want to hear your views on the proposals, so these can be considered by Council when they are making their decision on the new table of fares.

If you would like to comment on the Hackney Carriage table of fares, you can download an accessible version of the table at the bottom of the page or you can view all related doucments on the agenda page for the Licensing Committee that took place on 4 February. Taxi Fare Tariff Increase is item 5 on the agenda.
If you have any comments on the Hackney Carriage fares increase proposal, you should email these to licensing@melton.gov.uk, before 26 February 2025.
Why your views matter
If objections are received, the council will set a date within 2 months, where the objections will be considered before a decision is made on the proposed table of fares.
