Gambling Statement of Principles
Overview
Every 3 years, we are required to consult on our Statement of Principles, which relates to how Melton Borough Council carry out functions under the Gambling Act 2005.
We want to hear your views on the changes that have been made, and also understand any additional comments you may have.
The new Statement of Principles relating to the Gambling Act 2005 will come into effect on 31 January 2025.
Why your views matter
In accordance with the Gambling Act 2005 and Gambling Commission Guidance to Local Authorities, it is important we review our Statement of Principles relating to the Gambling Act 2005 regularly.
Any feedback given, will be reviewed by the Licensing Team and Chair of the Licensing committee in conjunction with the director for growth and regeneration, who will make any changes necessary to the Statement of Principles before publishing a final version.
The new Statement of Principles will come into effect on 31 January 2025.
How to take part?
If you would like to comment on the Gambling Act 2005 DRAFT Statement of Licensing Principles, please download and read the document below.
If you have any comments on the Gambling Act 2005 DRAFT Statement of Licensing Principles, you should email these to licensing@melton.gov.uk, before 26 September 2024.
What happens next
We will review the feedback given and make any changes necessary to the Statement of Principles document.
This amended version will then go to Full Council for review. Once approved by Full Council, the final version of the Gambling Act 2005 DRAFT Statement of Licensing Principles will be uploaded to the Melton Borough Council website.
The new Statement of Principles will come into effect on 31 January 2025.
